BMW publicly unveiled the BMW M8 in the minutes leading to the start of the Nürburgring 24 Hour race, offering a sneak peek into what it could look and perform like. Folks at BMW BLOG bring exclusive report and imagery.
“The future BMW M8 will build on the genes of the 8 Series and augment its DNA with added trackability and generous extra portions of dynamic sharpness, precision and agility,” says Frank van Meel, President BMW M Division.
Unlike the BMW Concept 8 Series, the M8 is touting bigger air intakes, massive brakes, and an exhaust with four tailpipes as opposed to two refined and hexagonal ones.
It is pretty unclear at this moment what sort of engine or power figures the M8 will sport. We are expecting it could either get the similar S63 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 as the F90 BMW M5 or maybe the same 6.6 litres twin-turbocharged V12 as the BMW M760i, however.
Both of them are all about the similar 600 horsepower. The original BMW 850CSi and prototype M8 dealt with a V12 engine, making room for the biggest engine on the forthcoming BMW flagship.
